Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Fun Diet Lab (the “App”). By installing or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. The service

Fun Diet Lab is a mobile application for tracking nutrition, recipes, water, weight, and workouts, with optional AI-assisted features. We make the App available to you under these terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you're between 13 and 18, you confirm a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and accepted these terms on your behalf.

3. Your account

You can use the App without an account, but creating one lets you sync data across devices. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us at contact@fundietlab.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the App for any illegal purpose; reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our AI prompts or backend logic; upload content that infringes copyright, contains malware, or is harmful to others; use the App for clinical diagnosis or medical decisions; resell or redistribute the App; or attempt to overload our servers or interfere with other users.

5. Not medical advice

Fun Diet Lab is for informational and general wellness purposes only. It is not a medical device, not a substitute for professional advice, and not a diagnostic tool. Calorie targets, macro recommendations, and AI suggestions are general estimates. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting a diet or exercise program. If you have a history of an eating disorder, please use this app with professional guidance. In a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately.

6. AI features and accuracy

AI-generated content — calorie estimates, recipe suggestions, photo analyses, menu rankings, chat responses, translations — is best-effort and may be incorrect. Treat AI output as a starting point, not ground truth. Verify nutrition against product labels or trusted databases, and review AI-generated recipes before cooking, especially for allergens.

7. Purchases

The App may offer optional paid subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown at the time of purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date and can be managed in your store account settings. Refunds are handled by the store under its standard policy.

8. Your content

You retain ownership of content you create or upload (recipes, notes, photos, profile data). By using AI features, you grant us permission to send your content to our AI providers solely to generate the response you requested. We do not use your content to train AI models. We may anonymize and aggregate usage data for product improvement, never in a way that identifies you.

9. Our content

The App's design, code, branding, AI prompts, and original content are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark laws. USDA FoodData Central content is in the public domain. Open Food Facts content is licensed under the Open Database License.

10. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

11. Third-party services

The App uses third-party services (Anthropic, OpenRouter, OpenAI, Supabase, Sentry, Apple, Google) listed in our Privacy Policy. Each has its own terms.

12. Updates and changes

We may release updates that change, add, or remove features, and may discontinue the App with reasonable notice. Where required by law, we'll refund unused subscription time. Material changes to these terms will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect.

13. Warranty disclaimer

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that AI suggestions will be accurate, or that data sync will always succeed.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or $50 USD. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted by law.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify us from any claim arising from your violation of these terms, your misuse of the App, or your content.

16. Termination

You can stop using the App anytime by deleting it, and delete your account per the account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. If you're a consumer in the EU/UK, nothing in these terms limits your rights under local consumer protection laws.

18. Apple-specific terms

If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to support the App; Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms; you must comply with the Apple Media Services Terms; and we — not Apple — are responsible for maintenance, warranty, and product claims.

19. Severability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
